Police nab two suspected robbers from Lagos in Ogun


The men of the Ogun State Police Command say they have arrested two suspected armed robbers who came from Lagos and one other who carried out armed robbery operation in Ajuwon area of Ogun State.

The suspects are a resident of Fagba, Lagos, Samuel Sunday (20), a resident of Ajala, Lagos, Adeleke Mustapha(22) and Joel Rotimi(19) who resided in Agbado area of Ogun State.

The suspects and three others at large, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, had invaded Iju aga in Ajuwon, around 1.45am on Wednesday 14th January 2021, and started dispossessing the residents of their valuables.

He said the residents put a distress call across to the police at Ajuwon and they responded swiftly, and arrested three out of the six hoodlums.

Oyeyemi said, “After receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Ajuwon, SP Andrew Akinseye quickly led his men to the area where the hoodlums who took to their heels on sighting policemen were chased and apprehended.”

Items recovered from them, Oyeyemi said were a cut- to -size locally- made pistol, four Bajaj motorcycles, weeds suspected to be india hemp, two voter cards and two national identity cards.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
