The incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola expressed optimism of coming out victorious at the end of the governorship election.

Arriving the polling unit around 10.30am at Iragbiji  flanked by his wife, Kafayat to cast his ballot, he was decked decked in a white buba and sokoto.

He complained to journalists about the slow voting process, which he said, was responsible for the queue recorded at polling units.

He however expressed the confidence that he would be re-elected.

Oyetola wanted the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission to deploy more machines to ensure that all voters cast their vote within the scheduled time.

He  noted that the time frame for voting might not be enough given the large number of prospective voters who were on queue.

Osun has 30 LGAs, 3,763 polling units with 1,479,595 PVC collected and 15 political parties participating in the 2022 governorship poll.
