Ogun Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo

The Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr Olakunle Oluomo has regained his freedom after being granted administrative bail by the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

NOTM gathered that the speaker regained his freedom on Friday night, exactly 24 hours after his arrest.

Recall Oluomo was nabbed on Thursday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos and reportedly flown to Abuja.

However, he was received at his Ifo home on Saturday by colleagues and sympathisers who thronged his residence.

The Speaker was released on the condition that he returns on Monday with both the assembly clerk and the accountant.

Confirming his release ,Oluomo told journalists, “I have been given an administrative bail. I will go back to their office on Monday.”

Our correspondent further gathered that the speaker insisted that the commission should charge the assembly to court over the allegation.

Before his arrest on Thursday, the EFCC had reportedly invited Oluomo but he failed to honour the invitation.

But rather the assembly had filed charges against the anti-graft agency and the former Deputy Speaker, Oludare Kadiri, before the speaker was arrested on Thursday .
