Ogun APC lawmakers now 25, as three ADC members defect

Three members of the Ogun House of Assembly from African Democratic Congress on Tuesday, defected to the All Progressives Congress during the plenary.

They announced their defection in separate letters read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Olakunle Oluomo to the whole house.

The defectors are the minority whip, Jemili Akingbade (imeko Afon),  chairman House Committee on Health, Adegoke Adeyanju (Yewa North 1),  and  the chairman, House Committee on Environment Wahab Haruna (Yewa North 11).

They all said they made the decision to join the ruling party after due consultations with their constituents and supporters.

While he congratulated them for their decision,  the speaker, said their decision would be a boost to the party and the development of the state government.

Recall that penultimate week, seven members of the Allied People’s Movement defected to the APC.

Meanwhile, out of the 26 members of the House, APC now has 25 while the People’s Democratic Party has only one member.
