The Olusegun Obasanjo soccer team thrashed the Ogun State Government team in a novelty match with  4 goals to 2.

This football match played on Friday on the mini stadium located within the premises of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta was part of activities to mark 85th birthday of the Owu-born General.

The former President led the Obasanjo team while Ogun State Government team was led by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.

For being the highest goal scorer, the celebrator (Obasanjo)  went home with medal of highest goal scorer which was presented by former Green Eagles player, Segun Odegbami, while medal of valuable player went to Noimot Salako-Oyedele

Besides, the Obasanjo soccer team went home with winner’s trophy which was presented to the captain, Obasanjo by the former President of Benin Republic, Nicephore Soglo and runner- up trophy handed over to Noimot Salako-Oyedele, captain of the government side.

Odegbami also presented medals to all the participating footballers.
