Lagos CP orders investigation into alleged DPO’s sex scandal, pistol theft


The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has ordered thorough and unbiased  investigation into the alleged sex in office by the Divisional Police Officer, Denton Police Station, Lagos, Adegoke Atilade and the theft of his service pistol.

Recall that Atilade was alleged to have had sex with one Jenifer Madueke in his office at the police station recently leading to theft of his service pistol.

In a statement signed by the state Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, Odumosu assured members of the public of unbiased investigation into the case and added that Atilade has been redeployed to allow for thorough investigations.

The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public that the Lagos State Police Command is not oblivious of the reported case of theft of service pistol against one Jenifer Madueke ‘f’ and the allegation of sex in the office against DPO Denton Police Division, CSP Adegoke Atilade as published on page 4 and 5 of today’s edition of The Punch.

“In the interest of fairness and justice, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an independent, thorough and unbiased investigation into the case.

“Members of the public are hereby assured that appropriate actions will be taken against any one found culpable at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation such that at the end, justice would have been served.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has directed immediate redeployment of the officer in the eye of the storm so as to pave the way for diligent and unbiased investigation.”
