I’ll present 2021 budget to House of Assembly next week -Ogun gov

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has said he will present the 2021 appropriation bill to the Ogun State House of Assembly next week.

The governor disclosed this in his address during the swearing-in of the chairmen and members of boards of government agencies and parastatals on Monday at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto Abeokuta.

The governor who said his administration has recorded giant strides in the area of infrastructural development in construction of roads, schools rehabilitation and housing projects among others, said he would further consolidate on the achievements recorded so far in the years ahead.

He noted that the appointment of the new boards would further boost ‘the building our future together’ mantra of his government.

In an event having in attendance royal fathers, caretaker committee chairmen of local governments, and other government officials, the governor expressed the optimism that the legislators would give the appropriation bill accelerated approval.

He later urged the newly sworn- in Chairmen, members of Boards and Parastatals  to live above board and be agents of positive change, as his administration would not tolerate any act that was not in tandem with its overall vision.

 He further admonished them to be selfless to achieve the collective dreams of the present administration.

          The Governor added that the present government is working on a collaborative approach that would ensure every part works together, noting that the appointees should add significant values to their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The governor noted that performance matrix would be put in place to help the State government measure the performance of each agency, saying people of the state would not be taken for granted.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi promised that they would work to achieve a state that would become an envy of all, commending the State Governor for being proactive during the COVID-19 period and the recent ENDSARS protest.
