Osun State governor elect, Ademola Adeleke has said he is going to explore the rich cultural heritage of the state and promote entertainment during his tenure.

He disclosed this in an exclusive on ‘Politics Today’ on Channels Television monitored by our correspondent in Lagos on Monday.

The ebullient Peoples Democratic Party candidate who defeated the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola in the Saturday 16th July, governorship election, said he would be innovative in shoring up the Internally Generated Revenue of the state by exploring these areas among others.

He said he would tap on the popularity and connection of his nephew who is an international music star, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, to stage concerts and shows which would feature both local and international stars in the state.

The Osun Osogbo festival too would equally be improved upon.

This, he said, would bring prosperity to the many stakeholders and improve the economy of the state as the guests, tourists and visitors would come down to spend their money in lodging in hotels, and this would cascade down to the traders and businesses of all classes in the state.

He said, “I will work on increasing the Internally Generated Revenue of the state. Osun has a rich cultural heritage, we will explore that. I will be calling on Davido and others to use their connection, we will stage international concerts and shows in Osun.

“This will open up the state because of the number of stars and tourists that would be coming to the state for the concerts. This would have a multiple positive effects on the economy of the state. Guests will lodge in hotels, they will eat and move around in the town.

“This will definitely rub off positively on the economy.”

Adeleke said he would also give the state capital,Osogbo a facelift by improving the infrastructural facilities, also listing education, health among others.

On security, the governor-elect equally said he would deploy the joint security task force option and the community policing strategy to fight crime and criminality in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

He also said he would engage in aggressive investment drive to attract investors to the state both from within and outside the country.
