Eid-el-kabir: TRACE deploys 600 operatives, 35 patrol vans, others

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, says it will deploy 600 personnel, 35 patrol vans, 20 medium, as well as, high capacity tow trucks, among others to guarantee effective traffic management during the Eid-el-kabir.

A statement from the office of the TRACE Corps Commander/Chief Executive, Abdul-Fatai Olaseni Ogunyemi, also indicated that this  move would ensure prompt rescue service on state’s traffic corridor.

The TRACE added that it would equally ensure strict adherence to Covid -19 protocols and guidelines, so as to flatten the curve of the new Delta Variant of the  pandemic during and after the Eid-el-kabir celebration.

It stated further that the exercise, which will commence throughout the state from Friday, 16th July will run through Monday, 26th July, 2021.

It added, “This move is geared towards promoting the safety of all road users, by deploying operatives to man strategic beats, choke points, in addition to, road diversion, road rehabilitation and reconstruction zones across the state, to check the excesses of recalcitrant motorists and their overbearing attitude.”

The TRACE said it would collaborate with other sister agencies, enforce the Covid-19 Delta Variant guidelines, “moreso that a high volume of human and vehicular movement is envisaged, with its attendant traffic build-up, breakdown of ill-maintained vehicles, obstruction and avoidable road crashes.”

While wishing all Muslim faithful Happy Eid-el-kabir celebration, the TRACE boss urged all motorists to ensure strict compliance to traffic rules and regulations,  as any vehicle contravened for any traffic infraction (s) during the celebration will not be released until Monday, 26th July, 2021, when the Corps would have ended her Eid-el-kabir operational order.
