There is pandemonium at Sagamu interchange along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as varsity students under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students stage a peaceful protest over the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities

Recall that the the NANS had announced yesterday that it would stage a protest today to express its displeasure over the prolonged face off between the Federal Government and ASUU in ending the strike.

Sources travelling on the road said the police are trying to disperse the students, as their action has led to a gridlock along the ever busy highway, leading almost all parts of the country.

One of NOTM sources coming from Ibadan heading to Lagos said he had to make use of alternative route via Ikorodu.

“My brother, it is quite hectic, there is pandemonium everywhere here. I believe the police are trying to disperse the protesting students.”

Effort to reach the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi on the matter proved abortive as calls put through to his phone number rang out.
