The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof.Mahmood Yakubu has left office.
Yakubu announced his exit on Tuesday October 7 during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.
Before exiting, he had served two term of 5 years each,making 10 years.
After the announcement he handed over to May Agbamuche-Mbu, who will now serve as acting national chairman, pending the appointment of the substantive one.
The President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to appoint a substantive chairman for the INEC in due course.
