A fully loaded petroleum tanker has burst into flames in the premises of MRS filling station located along the road leading to Obasanjo Farms at Onipanu area of Ota in Ado Odo/ Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The incident occurred in the evening on Friday when the tanker reportedly arrived the filling station to discharge fuel.
When NoTM online correspondent got to the scene some few minutes to 8pm, thick dark smoke from the inferno was billowing in the air, causing panic and fear among the residents in the area.
However, fire fighters had arrived in not fewer than two fire fighting trucks and were seen confronting the inferno.
Their efforts seemed to be paying off as the fire was being contained and it did not extend to other facilities in the filling station or the surrounding buildings.
Residents were seen in groups around the area discussing the inferno, but there has been any explanation as to what led to the tanker bursting into flames.
