A yet to be identified man has this afternoon jumped into the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge water.
Those who saw made the desperate jump corroborated the occurrence.
Many onlookers have besieged the spot to see how they could rescue the victim as at the time of filling this report.
News reaching NOTM online indicated that although relevant rescue and safety agencies have been alerted, while the police have cordoned off the area.
One of the eyewitnesses, Temitope, tweeted:: “Depression is real tbh Someone just jumped into the Ikoyi link bridge water right in front of me, not quite long. Hope he will not be lifeless before the rescue team arrives.”
Another tweep Temitola said: “Someone just jumped down from Ikoyi Link Bridge. People are tired fa.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed the incident, stating:
“Our men are there, controlling the crowd as other rescue teams arrive”.
