Election: FUNAAB declares Friday work-free day for staff

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. Olusola Kehinde, has approved and declared tomorrow, Friday, February 24th a work-free day.

This he said was to encourage all staff to fully participate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

It was contained in a circular issued by the University Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, titled: ‘Friday is Work Free’ and dated Monday, February 20th, 2023.

According to the circular, the essence of the holiday is to enable members of staff, who may wish to travel to their towns and villages outside Abeokuta to exercise their franchise for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 to do so, while work resumes on Monday, February 27th, 2023.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, however, enjoined all staff participating in the elections, either as voters or officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to be law abiding and refrain from any acts that could put the name of the University into disrepute during the period.
