To show the seriousness of the Lagos State Government in getting justice for the slain female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, it has said the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Justice Moyo Onigbanjo(SAN) shall be leading the prosecution team of the errant police officer who killed her.
The commissioner who was part of the team sent by the governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to visit the Raheem’s family on Tuesday disclosed this.
He said, “We have the permission of Mr Governor to tell you that justice will be done in this matter. The matter will be charged to court as soon as the police send us the case file.
“I will be leading the prosecution to show the seriousness the government attaches to this matter.”
Recall that Bolanle was shot and killed on Sunday Christmas Day at Under Bridge Ajah in Lagos while on her way home with the family after attending Xmas service in the church.
A Special Adviser to the governor, Tubosun Alake said Sanwo-Olu urged the family to take heart. He prayed that The Almighty would console the family.
The husband of the late Bolanle, Mr Gbenga Raheem, thanked Mr Sanwo-Olu for his empathy.
