Let’s pray for our leaders, Pastor Adeboye tells Nigerians

Pastor E.A Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christan Church of God has called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders instead of just criticising them.

He made the call on Sunday in his sermon during the monthly Thanksgiving service of the RCCG for October 2022. The notable cleric who spoke on the topic ‘Perfect peace in the Land’ noted that this became necessary because any mistake made by the leaders it is the people that would suffer.

He hinged the first aspect of the sermon on 2 Chronicles 7 :13-14, which harps on people turning from their  evil and untoward behaviours and move closer to God for divine intervention.

While he explained that storms could come in different dimensions, he said it is only God that could calm different categories of storm. He said, “We should spend more time in prayer, we must pray for our rulers, for every mistake they make it is the people that will suffer.

“Pray for your rulers,we spend a lot of time criticising them. We need pray for them because it is God that control the hearts of kings.”

“It doesn’t matter how much bread is sold, there will be bread in Aso Rock.

“No matter how many times the national grid collapses, there will be light in Aso Rock.”

He stated that with the current insecurity in the land, with kidnappers and bandits on the prowl, “we are in a state of war, don’t let anyone deceive you.”

He narrated two scary experiences he had while travelling to the UK and there were storms in the sky, but God intervened and himself and other passengers landed safely.
