Palliative work has begun around the Iju-Ota bridge.

NOTM gathered that it was being carried out by the Living Faith Church popularly known as Winners Chapel that has its headquarters in that axis of Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Recall that many lives have been lost on that bridge as vehicles have plunged into the river beneath the bridge.

Last month, NOTM had reported no fewer than five lives were lost within a week. Residents had to stage a peaceful protest when in another week two other lives were lost in another accident on the bridge.

It took the intervention of the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, the Area Commander, Sango-Ota, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Adekunle Ajibade and the Divisional Police Officer, Onipanu, Ota, Job Bamidele to calm the protesters.

The TRACE Corps Commander/CEO ‘Seni Ogunyemi then ordered 24hours traffic control by TRACE operatives on the axis that experienced no fewer than three different accidents within a spate of two weeks.

This effort seemed to have yielded a positive result with the palliative work being done presently by the works department of the Winners chapel.

The Olota of Ota had also continued to engage the Federal Government on the need to fix the deplorable roads in Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area.
