The Controller of Corrections, Ogun State Command, Abdul Rasheed Alimi has charged officers and men of the command to rededicate themselves to the constitutional roles of the NCoS which are safe custody, reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates among others.
He gave this charge in a message to the officers and men of NCoS Ogun State Command at the decoration of officers and men that were recently promoted.
This was contained in a statement made available to NOTM by the by Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Correctional Service,Ogun State Command, Victor Oyeleke.
The Controller seized the opportunity to express the appreciation of the Command to the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (CGC), Haliru Nababa, for his commitment to the welfare of the staff and inmates.
While congratulating them he admonished the promoted officers to see the new rank as a fresh call to higher duties.
He as well implored those that are hoping for promotion to keep hope alive as the service is committed to boosting morale of all staff.
The 19 officers and men that were decorated in the hall of the State Command Headquarters Office on Wednesday 7th September 2022 and other 56 officers and men decorated in their various Custodial Centres in the Command on Thursday 8th September 2022 are part of the 3,852 whose promotions were recently released by Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
