News reaching this medium indicated that the Nigeria Railway Corporation has temporarily suspended its service along the Abuja-Kaduna route following the vicious attack on the train on that route on Monday.
It made this announcement on Tuesday morning in a terse statement.
Recall that the Kaduna-bound train with an unspecified number of passengers on board was on Monday night attacked by terrorists.
The gunmen were said to have blown up the rail track, forcing the 1000-capacity train to derail around Rijana, a village on the rail corridor in Kaduna.
NRC, in a terse statement via its official Twitter page on Tuesday, said: “Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended.
“Further Communication would be given in due course.”
