. Alao-Akala
The Association of EX-Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria has described the death of a former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, as a great loss to the association, people of Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general.
This was contained in a condolence message made available to our correspondent by the national President, ASELGON, Hon. Albert Asipa.
He described the late Alao-Akala who was a former Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government as an invaluable and dependable member.
The condolence message released on Wednesday read partly: “It is very painful to the Association to lose a dependable and invaluable member like Alao Akala.
“The former Governor was amongst staunch members of our Board of Patrons and Patronesses led by Senator Ike Ekweremadu who are billed to be inaugurated in Abuja this month.
“Just last week, he requested for our needs at the National Secretariat and promised to be one of the leaders that would lift the Association to higher level.
“The former gorvernor of Oyo State, fondly called ‘O yato Governor’ by political associates was a deft grassroots politician who rose through the ranks of political participation as a local government chairman to become the governor of his state and national figure in Nigeria polity.
“As our formal member, he will greatly be missed by the entire ASELGON family.
“We pray to Almighty God to rest his soul in eternal peace.”
