Egbe Degbuyi Remo pays homage to Akarigbo, Ewusi ahead of inauguration

As part of activities preparatory to the formalĀ  inauguration of the foremost Traditional and Socio-cultural age-grade group in Remoland, the Egbe Degbuyi Remo, holding on the 12th February, 2022; members of the group, led by its head and the Giwa Egbe, Gbuyi Alaba Ogunsola had paid a courtesy visit two traditional rulers in Remoland.

The traditional rulers are the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, and Torungbuwa II, and the Ewusi of Makun, His Royal Highness, Oba Oyesola Akinsanya at the Akarigbo and Ewusi palaces.

Speaking during the visit, Giwa Alaba Ogunsola, described the visit as imperative, “as it creates an opportunity for the group, comprising focused and result-oriented men, with membership, cutting across Remo towns, both at home, and in the diaspora, to pay homage to the Royal fathers, familiarise with them, and also get their Royal Blessings, moving forward.”

The visit according to him is also meant “to tap from the monarchs wealth of experience, and also form a synergy between the group and the thrones, towards contributing our quota to the Remo Developmental Agenda.”

The statement made available to our correspondent by the Publicity Secretary, Gbuyi (Omoba) Yinka Okunoren, indicated that Akarigbo was made the Grand Patron of the group, while the Ewusi was appointed the Patron.

Similarly, invitations in respect of the forthcoming Inauguration event were presented to the royal fathers. While the Akarigbo will serve as the Grand Royal Father of the Day, the Ewusi will be the Royal Father of the Day.

In their separate remarks, the Royal Fathers both gladly accepted the tasks given to them, and commended the group for their variousĀ  interventions, which had impacted positively on their immediate communities, and Remoland as a whole.

They assured of further collaborations with the group towards promoting the socio-economic development of Remoland.

Joining the Giwa on the visit were Gbuyi Saheed Oloyede, the Otun Giwa Egbe, and Chairman of the launching/inauguration Committee; Gbuyi Tope Oyekan, General Secretary; Gbuyi (Chief) Adesanya Amos, Financial Secretary; Gbuyi (Omoba) Yinka Okunoren, Publicity Secretary; Gbuyi Adetola Davies, Social Secretary; and Gbuyi (Omoba) Saheed Sonariwo, member.
