One of the voices against apartheid in South Africa, Archbishop Desmond Tutu is dead.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has said the death marked “another chapter of bereavement in our nation’s farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans.”
He equally had soothing words for the 90-year old late cleric, stating that he helped the country to become “liberated” from the clutches of apartheid.
Tutu, who was a Nelson Mandela ally, ensured an end to the policy of racial segregation.
They and some other comrades rose against the discrimination by the white minority government against the black majority in South Africa.
