The Chief Executive Officer, Foodco Nigeria Limited, Mr Ade Sun-Basorun has said the company will consistently deliver quality products to its customers.

He said this over the weekend during the opening of the company’s 14th retail outlet in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Foodco Nigeria Limited, is a diversified consumer goods company with interests in retail, Quick Service Restaurants, manufacturing and entertainment.

While Mr Sun-Basorun said the company had clocked 39 years, he noted that it has survived this far because it has won consumers’ loyalty due to its consistency and continuous delivery of quality products.

Currently with 14 outlets in Oyo, Lagos, and Ogun states, he said the company has a strategic goal to space out in the Southwest geographical zone, however without ruling out the prospects of reaching out to other major cities like Portharcourt, Abuja among others.

He said, “It is our strategic goal for now to space out in the Southwest zone. The Abeokuta outlet is the 14th outlet outside Oyo and Lagos

“We are deliberate and intentional to ensure it is sustainable. We have identified the Southwest as our medium term aspiration.

“If we have opportunity to serve in other areas we’ll welcome it.

“The COVID-19 pandemic slowed us down. We are humbled and grateful for the acceptance in Abeokuta. Our aspiration is to continue to serve our customers where we can add value to them,” he said.

Mr Sun-Basorun explained that the factors that influenced the opening of Foodco outlet in Abeokuta is the fact that the city has the traffic, customers would appreciate quality products and customers “would appreciate the value we have to offer.”

He added that this was a product of a research carried out by the Foodco team in charge of prospecting for new markets.

Mr Sun -Basorun who was supported by Mr Kayode Adeyemi, Area sales manager, Lagos and Ogun, and Mr Ayotunde Ositunga, Inventory and Purchasing manager, during the interview, noted that the company has experienced exponential growth in the last decade.

He stated that the company has had its ups and downs in the last 39 years but expressed the optimism that the company would still be in existence even in the next 39 serving its teeming customers with quality products.

He also expressed the optimism that “Our mission is to be the largest consumer goods company in the Southwest.”

Mr Sun-Basorun said Foodco is concerned with offering of quality products and this informed its being deliberate with the suppliers.

He said, “We are very deliberate about the relationship with our suppliers, and for the intake, we have the quality control team, and then they move to the chain team, for another quality check.”

He said the company had created over 700 direct employment and over 2,100 indirect jobs, and it has a robust programme for its staff for career progression and offer those with lower qualifications scholarship to further their education in higher institutions of their choice.

The new upscale Foodco outlet in Abeokuta is located within the popular Akin Olugbade Social Centre, and it was opened to customers on Friday, October 8,2021 with a lot of funfare.

Scores of customers and residents within the rock city and its environs thronged the outlet, purchasing consumer goods and other essential household items and appliances like blenders, clippers, standing fans, electric kettles etc.

The cozy outlet also boasts of in-house restaurant and bakery for oven fresh bread and other pastries.

It also has the Foodco Arcade for children and adults who love games. Grill House is there for hot and fresh snacks, and Foodco meat shop for fresh and organic frozen chicken and beef.

Lovers of fresh fruits are equally taken care of in the avalanche of exotic and fresh fruits on display.
