Abducted Obasanjo workers regain freedom 48 hours after


The three abducted workers of Obasanjo Holdings have regained their freedom from their captors.

Police report indicated that they got their freedom on Friday, after about 48 hours with their captors, inside the forest along the Kobape-Siun axis.

Recall that the workers ; Financial controller , group Auditor and group store manager of Obasanjo Holdings were kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday evening.

The gunmen reportedly waylaid them at Seseri Village on the Kobape Road in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state .

They were abducted after their Hilux they  were travelling in was reportedly shot at by the gunmen and they took them away .

The victims were said to have got their freedom without paying any ransom .

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed their release when contacted,adding that the victims were released following the pressures mounted by police on their abductors.

He said the command deployed Anti-Kidnapping and SWAT operatives in the bush since the incident happened on Wednesday, mounting serious pressures on them.

He said,  “Yes. we mounted a lot of pressures on the kidnappers.

”Since yesterday, (Thursday) our Anti-kidnapping and SWAT operatives have been in the bush searching for them.

“They were able to trace them to the bush behind Day Waterman College. They have been there since yesterday.

“This evenning, they released them unhurt without any ransom.”

He, however said no arrest had been made, but expressed optimism: “We are very sure that we will make arrest.”
