Three persons lost their lives in a multitude auto crash that occurred around the Danco filling station along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday early in the morning.
Traffic report indicated that no fewer than four vehicles were involved, which were two trucks and two commercial buses.
According to the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, driver of one of the commercial buses loaded with bags of garri lost control of the bus due to speed and it rammed into a moving truck ahead of it.
He said this led other vehicles behind the bus ramming into each other, leading to fatalities.
The vehicles involved were DAF Truck flat body with number plate XY 895 GGE, Iveco Truck with number plate JBD 16 XY (loaded with granite), Mazda bus with number plate LND 676 XX (loaded with Tomatoes) and
Mazda bus with number plate BDG 755 YA (loaded with Garri)
The TRACE spokesman explained that the victims, two males and a female, were passengers in the two buses.
“The casualties in the unfortunate crash were two males that were occupants of the Mazda bus loaded with garri, while the other one, a female pregnant woman, was inside the Mazda bus loaded with tomatoes,” he said.
The vehicles were Lagos bound when the incident occurred.
He said all the vehicles involved were towed to police custody at Sagamu Divisional headquarters while the corpses had been deposited at Idera private morgue, Sagamu by the Federal Road Safety Corps.
