A Federal Capital Territory High Court has on Tuesday found a former member of the House of Representatives, Faruk Lawan guilty of corruptly enriching himself.
He was found guilty of count one, two and three of corruptly asking for bribe of three million dollars and obtaining same from Mr Femi Otedola, in order to exonerate Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd from the list of companies in the fuel subsidy scam.
He was Chairman of the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee which investigated the fuel subsidy scam at the time of accepting the bribe.
He was taken away in a Hilux van by correctional services officials immediately after the judgement.
