President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff.
He is replacing the late former COAS Lt.General Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a fatal plane crash last Friday en-route Kaduna State along with a number of senior officers and crew members.
Until Major General Yahaya’s appointment, he was GOC Div. 1 and the incumbent Theatre Commander of the Counter-terrorism Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East code-named Operation HADIN KAI.
