The Ooni of Ife and Arole Oodua, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11 has advised the newly installed National President, National Traders and Nigerian Market Women Traders, Hon. Chinwe Monu-Olarewaju to see her appointment as a call to serve at this critical time.
The reverred monarch gave this advice while playing host to the market leader and her Executive members at his palace in Ile Ife, Osun State and he gave them royal blessing.
His Royal Majesty suggested that for her administration to have meaningful impact, she must take women empowerment as a priority in order to upgrade the life of women.
Oba Ogunwusi said he believed that Hon. Monu- Olarewaju had what “it takes to succeed in her new assignment being a former Commissioner for Commerce in Delta, a former House of Assembly member, and a former Council Chairman.
The monarch promised the association that his office, “that is the palace is open to them to seek for any assistance.”
In her speech, Monu-Olarewaju appreciated the Arole of Oodua for giving her and her team audience despite the monarch’s tight schedule.
She said as a Princess from Asaba, she decided to visit the Royal Fathers first in order to get their blessings and tap from their wealth of experiences as custodians “of our value culture.”
She promised to support Federal Government’s programme in the area of women empowement.
Monu-Olarewaju also promised to invite the Ooni of Ife to the 97th birthday of Obi of Asaba, Prof. Joseph Chike Edozien CFR. JP, coming up in two months time.
