Covid-19: Lagos CP leads team to night club, scores arrested


The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, in the early hours of Saturday led his team to enforce the 12pm to 4am curfew at Surulere and other parts of the state.

Scores of night crawlers who allegedly breached the curfew and some other Covid-19 protocols were apprehended.

A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi had indicated, “The Commissioner of Police, today 9th January, 2021,personally led a team of police officers and men to enforce COVID-19 protocols across the state.

“The police chief and team pounced on Lounge 38, Bode Thomas, Surulere and arrested scores clubbing at about 1am which was contrary to the state government COVID-19 orders of Lagos State. “

Adejobi added that the CP’s team also arrested some others for violating the 12pm to 4am curfew at Maryland area of the metropolis.

He said the CP has vowed to do everything possible within the ambit of the law to enforce the orders and the halt the spread of the pandemic in Lagos State.
