A Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja has again denied the founder of Sahara Reporters and activist, Omoyele Sowore and four others being prosecuted for the New Year’s eve protest bail.

Rather during the proceeding, the court fixed 8th January for ruling on their bail application.

Sowore and four others were standing trial for alleged criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly and public disturbance.

Meanwhile, the Court ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Force CIID facility in Area 10.

This followed complaints by Sowore that they were denied food and medical attention at the Kuje Correctional Centre, where they were remanded overnight.
