Court sends Sowore, four others to Kuje Prison 


The Magistrate’s Court sitting in Wuse Zone 2 Abuja on Monday  ordered the remand of founder of Sahara Reporters and activist, Omoyele Sowore and four others at Kuje Correctional Centre.

However, their formal bail application will be heard tomorrow, January 5, 2020.

Prosecutors told the court that Sowore and his team were arrested on New Year’s Eve with placards calling for a violent revolution against President Buhari.

They were being arraigned by the federal government on three charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The others remanded alongside Sowore include Juwon Sanyaolu, Damilare Adenola, Peter and Kimrere.
