The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Wednesday presented a budget estimate of N339bn as the 2021 Appropriation Bill to the state House of Assembly.
The budget is tagged ‘budget of recovery and sustainability’.
Breakdown of the budget proposal showed it comprised recurrent expenditure of N162bn and the capital expenditure of N177 bn.
Also, the administration targeted N119bn as Internally Generated Revenue in 2021.
He also estimated statutory allocation as N59bn while capital receipt which comprised internal and external loans including grants and Aid was expected to be N142bn.
He added that substantial part of the 2021 recurrent cost estimate was allocated to paying salaries and overheads in Ministries Departments and Agencies, providing critical services.
Giving further breakdown of the budget, he said Infrastructure would gulp N61bn, while social welfare and wellbeing got N93bn.
He explained that social welfare and well being include Health, Housing, Environment, Physical Planning, Women Affairs, etc, while Education, Youth empowerment and Agriculture would gulp N58bn, N6bn and N15bn respectively.
Also the governor said Enablers which includine statewide services, general public service, public debt charges, stabilisation fund, judiciary, legislature, pensions and gratuities would gulp N106bn.
Other key allocations made are Economic Affairs:N75bn, General Public Services:N49bn,Health N35bn, Housing & Community Amenities N28bn, and Social & Environmental pprotection N5bn.
