The men of the Oodua People’s Congress say they have arrested some suspected terrorists and kidnappers at the Old Oyo National Park.

Their arrest came on the heels of the alarm raised by the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams,  on the alleged invasion of the park and parts of Oyo State by some suspected terrorists.

Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Rotimi Olumo, in an interview with journalists on Monday, said four AK-47 rifles were recovered from the suspects after being overpowered by the local security operatives.

He added that the hoodlums that occupied the Old Oyo National Park had been dislodged.

He explained that those arrested had been handed over to the police for prosecution.

Olumo commended Iba Gani Adams for providing the intelligence that led to the arrest of the suspects.

Recall the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Nwachukwu Enwonwu, toured the Oke Ogun area of the state to assess the veracity of the threat recently.

Olumo said, “We arrested some terrorists and we recovered four AK-47 from them. The suspects and the rifles have been handed over to the police.”
