Scores of persons escaped death on Monday at Ota in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state when high tension fell at about 1.30pm

This incident happened when heavy human and vehicular traffic had thinned out, and so the cables fell on bare ground with no casualties recorded.

However, news reaching this medium has it that there is a gridlock around Onipanu Police Divisional headquarters around Obasanjo bus stop, along Sango-Ota-Idiroko Road, which is close to the scene of the incident.

Two high tension cables from Oloko linking the area had dropped making it difficult for trucks to move.

The men of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps reported that only cars and tricycles (keke marwa) are moving now.

The traffic has now extended to both sides of the road.

Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company field engineers are yet to rectify the situation as at the time of filing this report.
